Your questions, answered
Here are the questions we hear most often. If yours isn’t here, just call us on 0800 744 227 or come into our Avondale office – we’re happy to help.
Getting a loan
From $500 to $20,000, secured by your vehicle, property or chattels.
Depending on the security you provide, loan terms range from three months to three years.
Once you’ve signed your loan documentation, we deposit funds straight into your bank account the same day.
* Same-day deposit is dependent on your bank’s processes and cut-off times – we can’t guarantee funds will clear on the same day, but we do our part immediately.
For smaller loans, yes – we can pay you in cash. For larger loans, we’ll deposit funds directly into your bank account.
* See same-day deposit note above.
Security
We accept a registered and warranted vehicle, property, or household goods (excluding essential whiteware like fridges and ovens) as security for a loan.
That’s fine – we consider each application individually. We can also pay out the outstanding debt on your security and consolidate it into your new loan, so you have one less payment to manage.
We may need a co-borrower or guarantor who has suitable security to sign onto the loan with you. They’d have the same liability as the main borrower. Talk to our team and we’ll work through the options with you.
Repayments and costs
Our standard interest rate is 29.5% per annum. For full details of all rates and fees, download our schedule below.
At the time of signing your loan contract, we’ll set you up with an automatic payment or direct debit whichever you prefer. You can also make cash payments directly at our office, or pay into our bank account on or before your due date.
* Bank account details depend on which branch your loan was obtained from. Contact us for the correct details.
Contact us as soon as you can. Our team will work with you to sort things out quickly and get you back on track. The sooner you reach out, the more options we have to help.
Yes. We have a couple of insurance options to cover you if you can’t make repayments due to sickness, disablement, redundancy or death. We’ll talk you through what’s available and what fits your situation when we’re working through your application.
Debt consolidation and existing loans
Yes – up to $20,000. We repay your other debt providers directly, so you don’t have to worry about it. Anything left over comes to you. We’re big fans of this option because it means fewer bills and an easier budget to manage.
Absolutely. We can top up your existing loan by adding the new amount you want to borrow so you’ll have just one repayment to manage. Easy.
Credit history and eligibility
We know that sometimes life happens – we don’t judge. At Pacific Finance we look at your record of paying back previous loans. If you had a problem in the past and you’ve paid off a bad debt, or you’re still working through one, our team may still be able to help.
We assess each application based on the individual. If you meet our lending criteria and conditions, yes we will lend to you.
Applying
Not at all. Just come into our branch between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. If you only have a short window – like a lunch break – you’re welcome to contact us to book a time and we’ll make sure someone’s ready for you. You can also apply online anytime.
Apply through our website and we’ll process your application. Once approved, we’ll be in touch to let you know when your loan contract is ready to sign. We make every effort to save your time.
